Five minutes with the Diner… Ted Ginn by Michael E Lawrence October 27th 2010
Football Diner. What’s it like to have your friend Troy Smith starting at quarterback?
Ted Ginn. It’s great but it’s kind of biased cos we’re more than just friends, we’re brothers. It’s always great to see a good thing happening for your brother.
Football Diner. Does Troy starting make a difference to the way you’ll be preparing?
Ted Ginn. No, not at all. It’s the same type of week that we have back home – so we just go out and just continue to get better and practice, go home, get rested every day until Sunday. You gotta treat it like a regular week, the only difference is you’re 100,000 miles away.
Football Diner. You actually scored here three years ago with the Dolphins – how would it feel to become the first player to score a touchdown in the International Series with two separate teams?
Ted Ginn. That’d be great! I’m just going out hoping that happens – and hope that this time we get a win. It’s one thing to have the touchdown catch and no win, but I’d rather have no touchdown and a win.
Football Diner. And if you do it, how will it come?
Ted Ginn. Receiving, returning, whatever, let’s just hope it comes!
Football Diner. And have you ventured out into London at all?
Ted Ginn. I’ve been out a couple of time and I’ll probably go shopping one of these days but it’s been all business so far.
Football Diner. As a former top-10 pick whose known for his explosiveness, you haven’t quite settled yet in the NFL – could this be your opportunity to make a splash?
Ted Ginn. Oh yeah, it’s always a chance to go out and showcase yourself – I just gotta go out there and just get it done.
