EXCLUSIVE Diner chat with WR Legedu Naanee
by Michael E Lawrence
24/10/2008

Diner:

legedu naaneeWhat are your thoughts on Sunday’s game Legedu? Will you win?

Legedu:

Yeah I think so. We had a good week’s practice and despite all the distractions of travelling over here we’re still pretty focused. We’ll need to be against the Saints.

Diner:

The feeling is that the trip here has been like a little minicamp for the Chargers and a chance to regroup is that your take on it too?

Legedu:

Yeah it is. We’ve been able to spend a lot of time with each other through making the journey and staying together in the hotel so we’ve bonded a lot this week.

Diner:

You’re not secretly getting a bit sick of each other?

Legedu:

legedu naaneeNot at all! I think it’ll really help us later. When you’re at home you spend a lot of time with your family and friends and here we’ve had nothing to take our attention away from bonding with one another. It’s going to make a difference down the stretch for us.

Diner:

What kind of role do you think you’ll play on Sunday? Will we see you on offense or will you concentrate on special teams?

Legedu:

Mainly special teams but I’ll help out wherever I can. When they call me hopefully I can get a ball or two so I’m just going to make sure I’m ready.

Diner:

Officially the Chargers are the away team do you think that’s any kind of disadvantage?

Legedu:

It’s gonna be interesting you know because I don’t know how the fans are over here and we don’t know if they’re gonna be cheering for both teams or whether they have a favourite. It should be an amazing atmosphere.

Diner:

legedu naaneeThere’s a school of thought that for the Giants in ’07 this was the game that propelled them to the Super Bowl. Do you think this might be a turning point that can take you all the way too?

Legedu:

Definitely. I know that last year they were kind of struggling and I’m sure that this experience helped their team unity just like it has done for us. For the Giants when rocky times came during the season it made them more together and helped them not get separated. Hopefully it’ll be the same thing for us this year.

Diner:

And have you been into London at all this week?

Legedu:

Yeah on Monday night we got to go downtown and have a look around, it was fun.

Diner:

What did you get up to? Are you at liberty to tell us?!

Legedu:

Yeah! We just went to dinner and walked around the town and checked out some of the famous spots.

Diner:

And have you sampled any classic British food like Fish ‘n’ Chips or Shepherd’s Pie?

Legedu:

Yeah I have actually, I had the Fish ‘n’ Chips.

Diner:

legedu naaneeWhat did you think?

Legedu:

I liked them a lot.

Diner:

Really? Not a bit bland?

Legedu:

No way! It’s just different, everything has a little different taste you know and that’s part of this incredible experience.

Diner:

Alright Legedu, thanks a lot and good luck on the weekend.

Legedu:

Thanks a lot.
