Baltimore Ravens: The fact Steve McNair retired this week makes the need at QB all that more obvious for some but I’m not so sure. Kyle Boller is no great shakes but he has shown flashes in the past and Troy Smith looked like he had something to offer in his appearances last year. Saying all that, if Matt Ryan is there at #8, the Ravens do have to seriosuly consider it.

Outside of that getting another pass rusher in to compliment what they already have as well as with half an eye to what they have lost recently (Thomas) and might lose soon (Suggs) would be a good idea. Cornerback got badly exposed by injuries (and defensive play calling) when injuries struck last year so that is likely to get some day one attention.

Lower down, I expect the Ravens to look to add some prospects where ago is a concern on the roster.

Cincinnati Bengals: Defense is where the Bengals need to be drafting and lots of it. Defensive tackle is a position they have a very good chance of getting the help they need early but if one of Dorsey or Ellis doesn’t get to them at #9, linebacker or defensive end might well get the nod instead.

Offensively, depending on the Chad Johnson situation, WR has to be thought about. Don’t forget, they also dumped Chris Henry recently. Running back might also be a place to make an addition. Rudi Johnson’s tank looks like it might be empty and whilst Kenny Watson can contribute, carrying the load is probably beyond him.

Lower down, more defensive help will probably be added, given that their depth was badly exposed at times last year.

Cleveland Browns: When you have already spent all your draft picks (at least, spent all your top choices), you shouldn’t really have any needs right? They added a couple of defensive lineman to try and impact the pass rush and also added another weapon for their offense in Donte Stallworth.

What they might look to add with their ‘top’ choice is another cornerback, given that the trade for Shaun Rogers cost them the talented Leigh Bodden but otherwise, this is just a draft for filling depth rather than looking to add any significant impact and the Browns are not really a team to watch on draft day.

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers have always being a team that drafts well and finds players that suit its schemes to perfection. With that in mind, given how much they missed Aaron Smith when he was injured last season, a DE who fits into their 3-4 scheme makes a lot of sense. Assuming Smith returns 100%, Brett Keisel could be pushed for playing time by a new addition at the position.

Offensive tackle could also be a consideration in round one. The Steelers could upgrade on the current starters they have and this draft features several prospects who could well be around by the time the Steelers get on the clock. Adding a wide receiver to be the heir apparent to Hines Ward could also happen.

Adding players at safety and guard could be a likely occurrence in the lower rounds of the draft.
