Five minutes with… Lance Briggs by Michael E Lawrence October 21st 2011 Highlights from Lance Briggs’ one-to-one with the media Friday: Q. You looked pretty good having a go at cricket there Lance… A. I was knocking them out of the park you know. Then Urlacher started throwing some baseball pitches which is a little bit baseball, a little bit non-cricketish. But all in all we had a good experience. Q. Do you think about charging the mound? A. I heard someone yell ‘charge the mound’ but I’m not that type of player, not a dirty player. Q. Urlacher looked like he had some game out there… A. He did, he did. I think that the baseball games we’ve played off the field have helped. He’s a pretty competitive guy so he got out there, threw some pitches, just wanted to see what everybody’s got. Q. You have a video camera in your hand there. Are you filming everyone’s questions and your answers? A. I’m interviewing as well as being interviewed. Q. You’re obviously not having any problems with your energy levels… A. I feel great right now. I was a little bit tired when I got off the plane and went right into meetings but I had me a cup of Joe and I’m ready to go. Q. What is the key to keep your legs underneath you over the next 48 hours? A. One, getting a lot of sleep on the way here. Two, staying awake as long as you can (at the end of today) too. For guys that are used to taking little bit of a nap, take a small nap during the day. Treat as you would normally. Q. You’re a worldy sort of guy, will you be seeing any sights? A. I probably will tomorrow, when we have a big block of time off. I’ll go and see some sights and have some fish and chips… Q. Maybe a pint? A. Hey! I don’t know about that. Q. What do you plan on seeing? A. You know what, last time I was here I didn’t go to see the (Beefeater) guards. I spent a lot of time at the museum so this time I think I might do some shopping too. Q. Do you think you could get into Buckingham Palace if you just went up to the gates? A. I don’t think anybody could get in the palace without permission… maybe if we got a say-so from Obama or something. Other than that, not going to happen.
