Q&A; with 49ers’ Patrick Willis by Michael E Lawrence October 27th 2010 Q. How do you see Sunday playing out? A. It’s all about what team wants it the most and for us – despite what happened to Denver last week – we know that they’re gonna come here to play against us thinking maybe this is an easy win. So we gotta come here and play hard this Sunday and every Sunday after. Q. With four losses by three points or less this season, how does can D learn to finish off games? A. We just have to finish, we just have to play good defense and know that we can’t allow any mistakes. We pride ourselves on being one of the best defenses out there – but we’re not there yet. This is an opportunity for us to get better and become complete, so that’s our focus this week: just coming out here and playing great defense. Q. How does team bonding play a part here in London, given the way the season has started? A. Oh, nobody expected us to have the record we have and start this way, but the trip to London, we don’t think about it as a big difference. We are here just like a normal week. It’s about preparing well for their offense and going out on Sunday and executing. Q. Have you been impressed with the way Troy’s been preparing behind the scenes? A. Honestly I don’t know how the quarterbacks do behind the scenes, but this week he’s our starting quarterback and we support him and we’re behind him and we just him want to go out and lead the offense and make it happen. Q. When you look at Denver’s offense what jumps out at you? A. The Denver offense has got some good receivers, good running backs – that offense can put up yardage. Orton is one of the leaders in passing yards so that’s a big task for us you know. We got to come out and have a complete game against the run and pass. Q. As it gets closer to the game how much excitement are you feeling? A. It’s a normal week like I say, but given that we’re in London we want to go out there and leave some impression in British fans’ minds so that people say: Wow that was a great football game and the 49ers showed a lot of heart, and it was fun to watch. We’re going to put on a good show and the 49ers are gonna play good football.
